Tamil Nadu scripts history in higher education: Edappadi K Palanisami

State has 49 percent of graduates compared to others.

DHARMAPURI: “In India, Tamil Nadu has created a history of having the highest number of people who have completed higher education,” said Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisami here on Sunday.

Chief minister Edappadi was here to attend the family function of higher education minister K. P. Anbalagan, which was held on Sunday at Kerakodahalli village, near Karimangalam in Dharmapuri.

Speaking in the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Tamil Nadu has achieved the distinction of having 49 percent of people who have completed higher education. This has not been achieved by any other state in the country. By this, the state has created a history of having highest number of people who are graduates compared to other states in the nation.

The Chief Minister added that the state could reach this milestone because of the able administration of higher education minister Anbalagan who started his political life as a member of AIADMK. Later, he became a minister in 2003 and again now he is the higher education minister.

The Chief minister indirectly hit hard at his opponents who were defeated in the recently concluded Vikravandi and Nanguneri bypolls. Edappadi said that the elections again proved that the AIADMK as the people's movement and it was their choice of government.

The Chief Minister also thanked all those who stood in support of the AIADMK to defeat the evil plot of its opponents, who according to him created enough of trouble in their attempt to destabilize his government.
