Report on prison scam: Done and buried?

Vinay Kumar, who headed the one-man inquiry in the alleged irregularities, is yet to even get an appointment with the CM.

Bengaluru: The much awaited report on the alleged corruption and irregularities in Bengaluru Central prison at Parapanna Agrahara has not yet been delivered to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah although it has been ready since September 1. According to sources, the retired IAS officer Vinay Kumar, who headed the one-man inquiry in the alleged irregularities, is yet to even get an appointment with the CM.

“The delay in getting an appointment with the CM could be because of some important events that took place last month, like the Cabinet expansion and murder of journalist cum activist Gauri Lankesh, which took precedence over other engagements. In between, Mr. Kumar also suffered a massive heart attack and was operated upon. It is also possible that the handing over of the report is delayed because it may have some uncomfortable facts that may not palatable to some people, who matter,” alleged an officer on condition of anonymity.
