Bengaluru: Private bus drivers flout traffic rules on Outer Ring Road

This particular video, of a private bus moving in wrong side of the road and posing a hazard to other motorists, was also put on the BTP.

Bengaluru: A member of Whitefield rising has filmed blatant violation of traffic rules by a private bus during peak hours on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Mahadevapura.

This particular video, of a private bus moving in wrong side of the road and posing a hazard to other motorists, was also put on the Bangalore Traffic Police (BTP) website by one Gaurav Goel, but no action has so far been taken against the erring driver.

Goel was shocked when the next day too he found a similar violation by two buses. This clearly shows that such violations are rampant on this stretch and private bus drivers do it with impunity, thereby putting the lives of those who abide by traffic rules in danger.

Goel updated his Facebook status, “On day two, again I filmed two buses willfully driving on the wrong side of the road during peak hours on ORR, near Mahadevapura. It is becoming an everyday phenomenon.

Every evening between 6.30 to 7 pm, these private buses brazenly break rules. One of the buses today drove over the median to cross over to the wrong side. While doing so, the bus was about to topple.

But then I guess saving few minutes of commute was more important than life! I have been uploading these videos on Twitter too and tagging the traffic police commissioner, but nobody seems to be bothered. If this is not a recipe for disaster then what is?

Request you all (especially Bengalureans) to share this widely. Hope it reaches someone who cares.”Amit Shyam Ahuja, alleged that these violations happen right under the nose of traffic cops. They will be paid not to initiate any action against them.
