Telangana: NIMZ status spurs Pharma City plans

TSIIC has been asked to send a detailed project report to the Centre on modalities for execution of project.

Hyderabad: The Pharma City project planned by the TS government on the city outskirts has received a a boost with the NIMZ status (National Investment Manufacturing Zone) accorded by the Centre recently. Accordingly, the TS government issued orders on Friday to speed up the project by tapping the grants from the Centre.

Collectors of Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts were asked to complete land acquisition spread over 12,500 acres faster so that the project can be developed in a single phase rather than a phased manner as was planned earlier.

The project has been renamed as “Hyderabad Pharma City” and the TS Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation has been appointed as the nodal agency for speedy execution of the project.

TSIIC has been directed to take up with the Centre all necessary correspondence to get required clearances in time and pursue with DIPP and other ministries to get approvals under NIMZ guidelines and establishment of relevant central organisations in the Pharma City.

TSIIC has been asked to send a detailed project report to the Centre on modalities for execution of project. The government has decided to set up a state of the art pharmaceutical city, a one-stop shop for pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, biotech & life sciences companies along with all related activities.
