Cyclone Fani cost railways almost Rs 3 crore

A total of 137 trains had been either cancelled or diverted due to the cyclone.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railways (SCR) suffered a revenue loss of Rs 2.97 crore due to Cyclone Fani, only in refunding the passengers the fare.

On the other hand, the SCR also made arrangements to run three special trains for the passengers stranded at important stations like on Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada-Howrah and Secunderabad-Howrah routes on May 4 and 5.
