Visakhapatnam: A 35-year-old woman hanged her two sons, aged 13 and 11 years old, from a ceiling fan before hanging herself at Ramavaram area under Gantyada police station limits in Vizianagaram district on Wednesday.
Police suspect the woman has taken the extreme step due to family disputes. The deceased were identified as T. Shanthi, Chandu and Harshit. Gantyada SI K. Tirupati Rao said Shanthi was married to T. Krishna, a lorry driver. Due to financial problems and other issues, the couple frequently quarreled. On Wednesday, Krishna picked up an argument with Shanthi and later he even beat her indiscriminately.
Upset with this, Shanthi hanged her two sons and committed suicide. Police registered a case and investigation is on as the relatives of Shanthi alleged that Krishna killed the trio.
