Don't believe false information given: Kiran Bedi

The Lt Governor alleged that some' elected representatives have been repeatedly using public platforms to spread falsehood.

Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi appealed to the people not go by false information being spread by ‘some’ elected representatives to weaken their trust in Lt Governor and the Raj Nivas.

The Lt Governor's response comes after a group of women complained against Raj Nivas for blocking distribution of free rice and other items during her weekend rounds at Thananpalayam area here.

The women complained that they were informed that the Lt Governor's office is blocking the distribution of freebies including rice and sugar during the time of Deepavali. Ms Bedi told the people that Raj Nivas at no stage has come in the way of essential welfare support and they are being misinformed. People are open to come to Raj Nivas and they can check the files by themselves, said Ms Bedi.

The Lt Governor alleged that ‘some’ elected representatives have been repeatedly using public platforms to spread falsehood. “Since I cannot speak Tamil these individuals are using every opportunity to malign the reputation of the Lt Governor's office”, said Ms Bedi while talking to newspersons.

“It is the duty of the Civil Supplies Office to prepare the proposal and submit it. As soon as it comes we call for the Secretary, Chief Secretary and Commissioner to immediately come and discuss in case we have any clarifications to seek and we clear the matter. Thereafter it is the responsibility of the department of Civil Supplies and the Minister concerned to ensure its procurement and proper distribution”, Ms Bedi said in her Whatsapp message.
