Hyderabad: Stray dog killing spree in Ghatkesar

According to the police, as many as 70-80 stray dogs were allegedly poisoned and killed by members of the Sanskruthi Township.

Hyderabad: A complaint was booked against a township association in Ghatkesar, alleging that the residents of this place had hired ‘killers’ to kill stray dogs by poisoning them.

According to the police, as many as 70-80 stray dogs were allegedly poisoned and killed by members of the Sanskruthi Township, near Ghatkesar in Hyderabad, as alleged in a complaint by the founder and chairperson of Compassionate Society of Animals (CSA), N.S. Pravalika, who said that the township committee members had hired dog killers from Andhra Pradesh.

In a statement, Pravalika said that the township committee President Bal Reddy and Secretary Janardhan Reddy had played the pivotal role in having the dogs killed.

Following a complaint, a case was booked under relevant sections and an investigation was launched by the Ghatkesar police.

“We will be accessing the CC cameras in and around the township and also eyewitnesses will be questioned,” the police said.
