YSRC ticket aspirants try to catch Jagan's attention

Modelling themselves after Jagan is the new strategy these local leaders have thought of to gain electoral dividends.

Kurnool: Soon after YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy completed his yatra after walking for 348 days, others in the party have planned to imitate their leader to get closer to the electorate till the elections.

Modelling themselves after Jagan is the new strategy these local leaders have thought of to gain electoral dividends.

Elections are scheduled in less than 100 days and these leaders who were expecting tickets or who have already been announced as party nominees are mulling taking up ‘Constituency Padayatras’.

YSRC as a party has been kept alive in the minds of the people only due to the ongoing Jana Sankalpa Yatra. Keeping that in mind, aspirants and nominees have planned their strategies to keep their chances alive.

When contacted, a state-level leader of YSRC said that he was preparing to take up a padayatra in the constituency. However, he would only be able to announce it once the logistics and other paraphernalia were fixed, he said.

An aspirant from Nandyal constituency also echoed a similar sentiment. He said, “I am in Itchapuram right now. Once I go back to my constituency, I would like to inform my cadre about my desire to undertake a Padayatra within the constituency. Based on their feedback, I will plan my schedule,” he said.

However, aspirants from the Panyam and Nandyal constituencies are likely to launch constituency padayatras in the run-up to the next general elections.
