Hyderabad: Sewage overflows left unattended

The overflow of sewage on to the main road only makes the situation worse.

Hydreabad: Residents at several locations in the city have been complaining about drainage overflow.

They said that even though complaints had been lodged manually as well as on social media, the officials had not fixed the problem but had marked it as solved in the records.

Mr B. Srinivas Reddy, a techie who regularly takes the road from Cyber Towers, said, “Sewerage water has been flowing onto the road for the past month and nobody has paid any heed to our request.

The water pipeline has been fixed, but the drainage pipeline continues to overflow, causing water to stagnate in this prime location.”

Several techies from Gachibowli use this road to reach their workplace every day and on weekdays, traffic snarls are common during rush hour. The overflow of sewage on to the main road only makes the situation worse.

Mr Vasista said that the drainage overflow was very severe beside the Bata showroom opposite Cyber Towers.

He said both the GHMC and Water Board officials had been resolving the issue on social media platforms but not at the ground level.

The problem has been continuing since several months near the rail under bridge near Alugadda Bavi, Patny Centre, Secunderabad, LB Nagar, Himyatnagar, Nagarjunanagar, Tarnaka, Chilukanagar, Ramantpur, Malkajgiri and other areas.
