Hyderabad: Three migrant labourers hailing from Odisha were buried alive in a mudslide at Sangareddy district. The workers had been employed for laying underground drainage pipeline of Gaudium School. Other workers on the project have alleged that the management of the school did not provide any safety measures at the work site, which led to the accident. The deceased were identified as Manas Sahu, 20, Prakash Manik (21), Vikas Manik (20), all hailing from the same village in Batik district in Odisha.

According to the police, Gaudium School located at Velimela village under BDL Bhanur police station limits, had initiated the laying of underground pipelines. The deceased were digging the ground, while two others were on the flat land helping them. But while the three were in the trench working, there was a sudden mudslide that instantly buried the three.

Their two colleagues hurriedly sought help and pulled them out from the trench. They were shifted to a nearby private hospital, where they were declared brought dead.

The other workers, who were also relatives of the deceased said that they had been working at the site for the past four months, but were not provided any safety measures during work.
