Power to all in Telangana by 2018: G Jagdish Reddy

Mr Reddy said  the agriculture sector will be given 24x7 power at free of cost from  March  2018.

Hyderabad: Telangana energy minister G. Jagdish Reddy said that the state government has set a target to provide power to all by 2021 but it will meet the target by 2018, making the state the first to achieve such a feat. Speaking in the energy minister’s conference presided by Union power minister R.K. Singh in Delhi on Thursday, Mr Reddy said  the agriculture sector will be given 24x7 power at free of cost from  March  2018.   The Telangana energy minister said that the introduction of competitive bidding in wind power sector is a welcome step as this would enable the utilities in offering sustainable power at a lower cost.
