No Bangaru Telangana if no Aarogya Telangana: K T Rama Rao

If Arogya Telangana is not achieved, Bangaru Telangana cannot be achieved, he said.

Hyderabad: The government will act as mediator to ensure that a formula which is agreeable for both allopathy and AYUSH doctors will be worked upon regarding bridge courses, said minister K.T. Rama Rao at a meet with Ayush doctors in Hyderabad on Sunday.

“The demand to have bridge courses for learning allopathy and to work on par with them is reasonable. Even, allopathy doctors need not worry,” he said. Before, allopathy was advented into India, country’s early health system was AYUSH and will remain in the hearts of people forever. He said, “Even though there is a belief in AYUSH among people, the government’s intervention is needed. There is a need to have focused effort on AYUSH which we will take it to the notice of CM.”

“If Arogya Telangana is not achieved, Bangaru Telangana cannot be achieved,” he said.

“We have done revolutionary work in healthcare based on the information provided by Central government. We reduced IMR and MMR. Telangana is number one in Mission Indradanush,” he said.

He said that there were insensitive governments which did not keep proper intensive care unit facilities in area hospitals. “After the TRS government came into force, we had setup ICU and NICU. Blood transfusion and blood banks have been setup. Telangana government spent about Rs 8,000 crore in healthcare which was around Rs 4,000 in erstwhile AP. Recruitment in AYUSH happened in 1998, and now it has started under ageis of minister Lakshma Reddy.”

He also said that the state is working to create health profile of every citizen. “We are digitising health records using finger print and iris which started from Sircilla. This will help doctors save people in the golden hour. Even if we can save the life of 10 persons, it is a great achievement,” Mr Rao said.
