CCMB decision pending with CM K Chandrashekhar Rao

Officials sources told Deccan Chronicle that an alternative land parcel has been found in Pagidipally village in Bhongir district.

Hyderabad: The gene research centre of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) will move out of Telangana state if the government fails to address the land issue on a war footing.

Now that the project could move out of the state, the Telangana state government is making some effort to retain it. TRS Bhongir MP Bura Narasaiah Goud has been scouting for some other suitable land.

Officials sources told Deccan Chronicle that an alternative land parcel has been found in Pagidipally village in Bhongir district. It is government land and free of disputes.

The source added that the land was shown to CCMB director Rakesh Mishra, who approved the location.

Bhongir district collector Anita Ramachandran and RDO M.V. Bhoopal Reddy say the land could be handed over to CCMB at the earliest. However, a policy decision has to be taken at the Chief Minister’s level, which is still pending.
