Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court asks Vigilance officials to submit QVR on ADGP

The Vigilance sought for more time as the deadline for submitting the quick verification report ended on Saturday.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court on Saturday asked the Vigilance officials to submit the quick verification report on the case against ADGP R. Sreelekha before January 20.

Earlier during the day, the court had asked the Vigilance, which sought more time to complete the probe, to specify how much time was needed on Saturday itself. However, it did not provide any specific date. Therefore, the court asked it to submit the report before January 20. It also instructed the Vigilance to submit before that date the report on the complaint that chief secretary S.M. Vijayanand had delayed the decision for the Vigilance probe against Ms Sreelekha, who is also the intelligence chief.

The Vigilance sought for more time as the deadline for submitting the quick verification report ended on Saturday.

The probe was being conducted into allegations which include illegal utilisation of road safety fund, financial irregularities in office functioning and violation of rules in foreign trips and misuse of official vehicle while she served as the transport commissioner.

Former transport commissioner Tomin Thachankary had recommended a probe against Ms Sreelekha regarding the charges.
