Vijayawada: Students told to keep city free of plastic

Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao asked parents and teachers to inculcate the habit of keeping classrooms and school premises.

Vijayawada: Students were on Thursday told to keep their schools clean and green and avoid usage of plastic covers.

Students of the Seetaramaiah High School, Guntur, participated in a clean and clear awareness programme organised by the AP Non Resident Telugu Society where they helped collect plastic waste discarded carelessly.

APNRT president Ravi Vemuru said that the intention was to make the students aware of the damage caused to the environment by uncontrolled usage of plastic in our daily life.

Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao asked parents and teachers to inculcate the habit of keeping classrooms and school premises clean and green by planting saplings on various occasions.
