Experts to design Kerala rebuild plan at summit

The summit forms the key segment of India's largest design festival, the six-day Kochi Design Week', at Bolgatty Convention Centre.

Kochi: The state government is organising a two-day #DESIGN KERALA SUMMIT in a bid to leverage path-breaking design solutions in rebuilding the flood-ravaged Kerala, starting December 11 in Kochi.

The summit forms the key segment of India’s largest design festival, the six-day ‘Kochi Design Week’, at Bolgatty Convention Centre. The festival will be attended by design luminaries, architects and decision-makers from around the world and will conclude on December 16. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will address the summit on December 12.

The event will showcase technology options for various stakeholders. Ideas emerging out of the event will be distributed to relevant departments for their reference.

Key speakers at the meet include designer and entrepreneur John Ferreira, designer, architect and researcher Cyrus Clarke, creative director, BBC, Filippo Cutica, Momo Miyazaki of IDEO, San Francisco, World Design Organisation president Srini R. Srinivasan, Manas Karambelkar of Studio 5B, HPIC Kerala chairman S.D. Shibulal IBS executive chairman V.K. Mathews, Architempo founder Alok Nandi, idea designer Jimmy Chion, Siddharth Balachandran of Airbus India Bizlab, former director of National Institute of Design Darly Koshi, IT secretary M. Sivasankar and Compassionate Kerala founder Prasanth Nair.
