A game-changer in male-dominated sandalwood

Actress Hariprriya is one of the youngest achievers in the industry, just as the scene is beginning to change.

Bengaluru: She is one of the busiest actresses in Sandalwood at present with at least seven movies in her kitty. What makes this actress even more special is the sheer variety of characters she has portrayed, moving away from the stereotypical ‘glamour girl’. Actress Hariprriya is one of the youngest achievers in the industry, just as the scene is beginning to change.

Unlike in the past where male actors dominated the film industry, things are slowly shifting with a good number of movies being made with women-oriented roles that also end up performing well at the box office.

Driven by commercial elements, the film industry is still largely male-dominant, but women in the industry, whether they are present as actresses, filmmakers or technicians are making their presence felt.

In so far as more number of substantial, female characters being offered to her, Hariprriya says that though she loves doing projects which focuses women in lead but her preference as an artist is always the story and that of the character in it.

She has wrapped up five movies so far and is currently shooting for two more. In addition to it she is also the part of historical venture Bicchugatthi, where she plays her first ever full length historical, portraying Siddhambha from the movie which is based on the novel penned by Dr. B.L. Venu.
