Master Plan: BDA to seek public opinion

Khatri said that there was no question of avoiding public consultation.

BENGALURU: Reacting to the story on Master Plan 2031, the BDA has clarified that the civic body will hold an extensive public consultation before finanlising it and public feedback will be considered.

BDA commissioner Rajkumar Khatri told Deccan Chronicle that public consultations will be held at all the zonal levels and with the members of Non Government Organisations (NGO) and Resident Welfare Association.

Khatri said that there was no question of avoiding public consultation. The preliminary master plan has been uploaded on the BDA’s official website www.bdabangalore.org and their feedback will be considered. After incorporating the feedback, a draft master plan will be updated on the website again calling for the public objections and suggestions.

The public will be given about 60 days time to provide their suggestion and objection. After going through the suggestions they would be incorporated, before publishing the final master plan, he added. Meanwhile, BDA additional director (Town Planning) Kumar said, “The data uploaded on the BDA website is for the information of general public to invite their suggestions, if any. It is once again clarified that the revised master plan 2031 will be finalized only after due diligence and suggestions from various quarters.”
