Hyderabad High Court fumes at Tirumala tax official

The bench directed the executive officer of TTD to file an affidavit explaining the action being taken based on the complaints received.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday expressed anger at the Chittoor commercial tax officials’ failure to audit the accounts of hoteliers and stall owners at Tirumala despite an order from the court.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice G Shyam Prasad directed the deputy commissioner to appear before the court.

The bench directed the executive officer of TTD to file an affidavit explaining the action being taken based on the complaints received from devotees against hoteliers in the temple town through toll-free number and WhatsApp.
