He said media reports (Deccan Chronicle of Thursday) said the seven acres of land with market value of Rs 405 crore and guideline value of Rs 267 crore had been sold to the Trust for only Rs 33.46 crore. “They have caused loss of about Rs 370 crore to the government by this deal”, said Stalin.

“That Trust had bought the land at rock-bottom price claiming it was meant for establishing a health trust, but ended up building a marriage hall to make huge profits. Tamil Nadu Housing Board and the AIADMK government have been accomplices to this”, he said.

“There has been a Himalayan irregularity in the Housing Board helping the Trust in the purchase of government land for pure commercial purpose to build marriage hall”, the DMK leader alleged and sought “immediate instructions” from the government to the directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption (DVAC) to probe the land deal and punish those found guilty.
