Man stranded in Iraq brought back

P. Basanth Reddy demanded that the state government take strict action against agents who cheat people.

Hyderabad: A Gulf expat who was stranded after being cheated by an agent was rescued from the war-torn Erbil state of Iraq. Nagender, a native of East Godavari district in AP, landed at RGI Airport on Saturday. Narender’s parents had sold their house to pay the fine of $1,500 for his release. P. Basanth Reddy from Telangana Gulf Association said they had been trying to get him back to the country since December 2017 with the help of the Indian embassy officials and IT minister KT Ramarao. Mr Reddy demanded that the state government take strict action against agents who cheat people.
