Bickering hits Chandrababu Naidu efforts on Jagan turf

Telugu Desam had managed to get only one MLA elected from Rajampeta.

Anantapur: Internal bickerings among the leaders of Telugu Desam in Kadapa district has adversely impacted serious efforts by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to gain a stronghold for the next general polls in the home turf of YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

With leaders trying to prop up their individual political mileage while trying to suppress their dissidents and opposing groups in the party, every effort by the government to boost its image in a big way has been failing, sources said.

A senior leader from the district lamented that his own party leaders were creating hurdles for his political success and hampering development work.

“Though, I have been fighting with the Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy family for more than two decades to strengthen the party, our own party leaders are against my hard work", he observed adding that the party chief, too, was concentrating on strengthening party to increase number of MLA seats in the district in the coming polls.

Telugu Desam had managed to get only one MLA elected from Rajampeta.
The rest of the seats were bagged by YSRC in the last elections.

In a bid to strengthen the party, the high command attracted two MLAs Adinarayana Reddy of Jammalamadugu and Jayaramulu of Badvel along with several secondary level leaders.

Party high command had to compromise both faction group leaders- D. Adinaryana Reddy and party in-charge Ramasubba Reddy after series of efforts.
Meanwhile, TD district level leaders could not finalise candidate for MLC from local body constituency of Kadapa while the YSRC is ahead with campaigning after announcing the candidature of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

With party leaders ignoring efforts to boost unity over sensitive issues, the Gandikota rehabilitation package issue has put the party leaders in a state of panic after YSRC extended week-long protest in Kondapuram mandal.

Mr Sathishkumar Reddy who was on oath concentrated on bringing Krishna waters to Pulivendula. The government had to issue GO for the people of 14 villages.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would formally release water during a public meeting at Pydipalem project site on January 11.
