Colleges wait for log-in nod as TSBIE not given official permission

The board should give log-ins at least to affiliated colleges and should give 45 days to the colleges which don't have hostel permissions.

Hyderabad: More than a month after Intermediate first year classes have begun, the TS Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has not given official log-in permission to private junior colleges. Almost 1,300 junior colleges have got affiliation for 2018-2019.

According to TSBIE, the junior colleges will not get the log-in permission until they apply for hostel permissions, a stand the Private Junior Colleges Managements Association has criticised. Association president Gouri Satish said colleges were unable to give students their official admission numbers due to the lack of log-ins. They are not able to get bus passes as well as scholarships.

He said the first year classes were running without authorisation due to the lack of log-ins. “Among 1,300 junior colleges, only about 215 have attached hostels but the board asking all the junior colleges to get hostel permission to get the log-ins,” Mr Satish said.

He said 56 junior colleges in Ranga Reddy district are housed in multistorey buildings which need fire safety certificates.

The board should give log-ins at least to affiliated colleges and should give 45 days to the colleges which don’t have hostel permissions.

Asked about the issue, Hyderabad district intermediate education officer B. Jayaprada said, “There are many junior colleges in Ranga Reddy district with attached hostels and they need to get hostel permissions to get log-ins. Colleges which don’t have hostels will get admission log-ins in two or three days.”
