Abhishek Singhvi says RBI changed rules 105 times

Hyderabad: The demonetisation or-dared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only made the country cashless but the “misadventure” has turned out to be counter productive with thousands of workers rendered jobless, said AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi.

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, along with TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders, Mr Singhvi said that the Reserve Bank of India had changed its guidelines on the cash flow over 105 times within 24 days of the Prime Minister announcement of demonetisation. This volumes of the “total unpreparedness and lack of vision” of the consequences by the Central government, Mr Singhvi said.

He said it was well known that some BJP leaders had got hints to spend their old notes by purchasing property and gold and demanded a probe. He said a situation would emerge around May and June where the people would come to know of the ill-effects of demonetisation, mainly on employment. He said even 24 days after demonetisation, were facing difficulty in getting their own money and were stand in long queues, showing that the currency situation had not improved.
