Teachers' Day: 31 educators to be felicitated at Soudha

Another 11 high school instructors will also be felicitated during the event by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.

Bengaluru: Educators from across the state will be felicitated for their contribution in their respective fields in different functions scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

The Department of Public Instruction will felicitate as many as 31 teachers from government schools at an event at Vidhana Soudha. Satish C.S. (Kodagu), Shankar (Dakshina Kannada), Ramesh M. (Kolar), G.K. Sivaramaiah (Tumakuru), Jayaram N. (Uttara Kannada), Hullappa S. Vanakihala (specially-abled instructor from Raichur), Baby B. (Udupi), Yamuna P. Nayaka (Sirsi) and Santosh Madiwalappa Tadasili (Chikkodi) from primary school level will receive the awards.

Another 11 high school instructors will also be felicitated during the event by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Primary and Secondary Education Minister N. Mahesh and Shivajinagar MLA Roshan Baig.

Minister for Medical Education D.K. Shivakumar will hand over awards to ten eminent teachers in the field of health sciences in another event which will take place at Dhanvanthri Auditorium, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in the city.

Chancellor of Central University of Karnataka Prof. N.R. Shetty, Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Higher Education Council S.V. Ranganath, and former VC of UAS Prof. S. Bisaliah will be at the Teachers' Day Celebrations at Bangalore University. Prof. G.K. Veeresh (Former VC, UAS) and Prof. Kamala Hampana (renowned writer) will be felicitated during a special function held by the Forum of Former Vice-Chancellors of Karnataka State Universities (FVCK).
