The University with 18,000 students is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research institution that has been accredited A' by NAAC.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore-based Amrita University has emerged as the number one private university and the 9th best university in the ‘National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2017’ for Indian Universities that was released on Monday by HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar. This is a significant improvement from last year’s NIRF ranking, in which Amrita University was judged number two private university and 14th best university in the country.
“It is a great feeling to reach the top of the ranking for private universities in India in just one year and be ranked number nine university overall in the country in NIRF Ranking 2017, right behind some of most prestigious public-funded universities in the country. We maintain one of the best staff-student ratio of 1:10,” said Dr P. Venkat Rangan, vice chancellor, Amrita University.

The University with 18,000 students is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research institution that has been accredited ‘A’ by NAAC, and is ranked as one of the best research Universities in India. It is spread across five campuses in three states – Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, with the University headquarters at Coimbatore.

The University continuously collaborates with top US institutions including Ivy League Universities and top European Universities for regular student exchange programmes.
