kasargod: Congress to cash in on twin murder ahead of polls

kasargod: Congress has decided to cash in on the outrage against the twin murder of Youth Congress workers at Periya keeping its tempo alive with an eye on elections roughly a month away.

As a part of its campaign, various feeder organisations will organise demonstrations pressing for a CBI probe and project CPM's violence politics across the state.

On March 5, a programme 'Amma Manassu' will be held at Kallyott under Mahila Congress against murder politics.

“Mothers' will plea to stop the bloodshed. Well-known women from different walks of life will participate in the protest,” said Kasaragod DCC president Hakkim Kunnil.

Two days later, sit-in dharna will follow before all grama panchayats in the state. To top it all, AICC president Rahul Gandhi will visit the families Kripesh and Sharath Lal on March 12, before addressing a rally on the Kozhikode beach.

Meanwhile, KPCC working president K. Sudhakaran made it clear that the twin murder would be an election issue.

“Along with Sabarim-ala, the gruesome murders would be taken up to the voters,” he told DC.

The statewide campaign of Youth Congress with the ashes of the slain workers reached Malappuram on Sunday.
