H D Kumaraswamy slams detractors, says coalition govt will last full term

BENGALURU: Lambasting his detractors for attempting to destabilize the coalition government, Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday expressed confidence that his government would complete its five-year term. He told the media on the sidelines of an event organized for distribution of ‘Gandhi Gram Puraskar’ awards instituted by rural development and panchayat raj (RDPR) department here: “a malicious campaign has been launched against my government that it will collapse anytime, and Assembly polls will be held along with Lok Sabha elections (2019), but our government is safe, and will complete its term.

Through Janata Darshan I have solved problems of the poor and needy, but no one talks about good work done by our government.” The Chief Minister said his government has taken a decision to install CCTV cameras along all main and service roads in Bengaluru following an increase in chain snatching incidents, adding that stringent action would be taken against illegal lottery, recreation clubs and other illegal activities in the city. Efficient police officers have been hand-picked to curb such illegal activities, he added. Mr Kumaraswamy defended transfer of officers on grounds that a reshuffle would help improve the administration.
