Bengaluru: Woman accuses landlord of assaulting her

Byappanahalli police have registered a case and begun investigation.

Bengaluru: A 28-year-old woman has accused her landlord of abusing, misbehaving and assaulting her, her four-month-old child and mother-in-law over rent dispute.

The complainant, Meenakshi, approached Byappanahalli police station and filed a case. Police said the incident allegedly took place in GM Palya in Byappanahalli police station limits on Friday.

Meenakshi alleged that the assault took place after her landlord Shankar alleged that the cheque given her estranged husband Ashok had bounced. Ashok had handed over a cheque of '40,000 for payment of deposit. The couple has applied for a divorce and the matter is in the court.

After the cheque bounce an enraged Shankar used to get into frequent quarrels with Meenakshi. However on Friday Shankar allegedly misbehaved with Meenakshi and assaulted her family members. Byappanahalli police have registered a case and begun investigation.
