The committee has members representing the advocates and media.

Kochi: The Advocate-General will convene the first meeting of a committee set up to resolve the issues between lawyers and mediapersons on Thursday. The impasse continues as journalists have refused to attend High Court for the last 14 days citing security concerns.

The committee has members representing the advocates and media. Chairman of the Bar Council of Kerala, president Kerala High Court Advocates Association, president Ernakulam District Bar Association, state president of Kerala Union of Working Journalists, state general secretary of Kerala Union of Working Journalists, president/secretary of Ernakulam unit of Kerala Union of Working Journalist will attend the meeting. The meeting is expected to be held at Ernakulam Guest house at 12 noon.

The government decided to set up a committee after the lawyers and media persons clashed near Kerala High Court. After the incident there were issues at Thiruvananthapuram and at Alappuzha.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had urged both parties to settle the issue amicably. Two Kerala High Court Judges had visited Thiruvananthapuram and held discussions with representatives of the two groups and set up a Media Relations Committee at Thiruvananthapuram to sort out issues between them.
