Bengaluru: The CID has hit a dead-end in a probe to trace Bengaluru techie Kumar Ajitabh, who went missing on December 18, 2017. While his father Ashok Kumar Sinha's relentless struggle has received a positive response from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Mr Sinha had filed a petition on May 13 with the PMO,which has now asked chief secretaries and DGPs of Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Maharashtra to look into the matter on priority, and marked the copy of the petition. Mr Sinha said, "I had requested the PMO and Home Ministry to extend help, and sought their direction to all CID heads and DGPs for necessary coordination with Karnataka CID. I had also sent a petition to the Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force, South Western Railway, Hubballi to circulate a lookout notice across all the stations. I received a reply from them on May 25."
Mr Sinha, a retired bank official, who has been living in the city since Ajitabh went missing, said, "I wake up in the morning and head out for five to six hours visiting offices of CID, Vidhana Soudha, Ministers and MPs seeking help to find Ajitabh. The incident has left us torn but we have not given up and we won't until we find Ajitabh."
Ajitabh's sister Pragya, a teacher, who is in Delhi, said that she has launched an hourly online campaign on Twitter with hashtag #Find Ajitabh, #Justice for Ajitabh and has urged people to sign a petition to handover the probe to the CBI.
Ajitabh, a 30-year-old software professional and a resident of Whitefield, went missing on Dec 18, 2017. He had posted an ad on an online portal to sell his car, and had left his house around 6.30 pm after receiving a call from a buyer.
