Computer-based Telengana Eamcet begins

The test was conducted in two sessions the first from 10 am to 1 pm, and the second from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Hyderabad: The TS State Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS Eamcet) 2018 commenced peacefully on Wednesday.
The Agricultural and Medical (AM) paper was administered at 67 centres in Telangana and eight centres in Andhra Pradesh, in the form of a computer-based test.

The test was conducted in two sessions – the first from 10 am to 1 pm, and the second from 3 pm to 6 pm. 21,774 of the 23,808 registered for the morning session, and 22,671 of the 24,743 candidates registered for the afternoon session appeared for the exam. A total of 73,106 candidates have registered for the AM paper.

The Engineering paper, for which 1,47,958 candidates have registered, will be held on May 4, 5 and 7. Professor T. Papi Reddy, the chairman of the TS State Council of Higher Education, professor A. Venugopal Reddy, the chairman of TS Eamcet 2018 and the Vice-Chancellor of JNTUH, Professor N. Yadaiah, the convener of TS Eamcet 2018 and the Registrar of JNTUH, Professor M. Manzoor Hussain, a co-convener of TS Eamcet 2018, and Professor G.V. Narasimha Reddy, another co-convener of TS Eamcet 2018, were present during the initial configuration of the computer-based test.

Professor N. Yadaiah said, “Utmost care has been taken to prevent malpractices such as impersonation. We have requested the chairman and managing director of the TS Southern Power Distribution Company Limited to provide uninterrupted power supply on examination days.

We have also requested the vice-chairman and managing director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation to operate special buses on those days.”

The AM test will be administered on May 2 and 3, and the Engineering test at 83 centres on May 4, 5, and 7.

TS students excel in AP Eamcet
Students from TS have excelled in the AP Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP Eamcet) 2018. They have bagged six of the top ten ranks in the Engineering stream and two of the top ten ranks in the Agricultural and Medical stream.

Gattu Matraya from Ranga Reddy district, who secured the fifth rank in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) – Mains, G. Vinayaka Srivardhan, M. Shaik Wajid, Basavaraju Jishnu, Ayyapu Venkata Phani Vamsinath and Mukku Vishnu Manogna feature in the top-ten rankers of the AP Eamcet.
