Samajwadi Party govt has no right to continue, says Rajnath singh

Singh said he talked to the states on the issues and what type of policies are to be formulated so that these problems could be sorted out.

Lucknow: In a veiled attack on the Akhilesh Yadav dispensation in Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that a government which cannot redress problems of the people has no right to continue in power on moral grounds.

"I am of the opinion that a government, which cannot redress the problems of its people, has no right to continue in power on moral grounds," he said at 'Adhikaar Dilao Rally'.

He said that crying about shortage of funds was wrong. "I too had been the Chief Minister and I know that state exchequer is like 'kuber's treasure'. You only need intention," he said.

Singh said "fooling" people by saying there was shortage of fund was wrong.

"The money allocated by the Centre to the state from central taxes is highest in independent India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hiked states' share from 32 per cent to 42 per cent," he said.

Singh said he himself talked with the states on the issues and what type of policies were to be formulated so that these problems could be sorted out.
