Commercial activity has been increasing as Amaravati canteen and other stalls are coming up at Velagapudi.

GUNTUR: The works of temporary Secretariat complex at Velagapudi are progressing swiftly as beams and pillars of the buildings are nearing completion and concrete slabs of five complexes would be laid on April 5.

The CRDA officials are hopeful about the completion of temporary Secretariat before the schedule. Commercial activity has been increasing as Amaravati canteen and other stalls are coming up at Velagapudi. The APSRTC started bus services to Velagapudi from Guntur via Tullur for the public.

According to the plan, there are six blocks in the temporary Secretariat and CM’s office would be in the first block on the Nairuthi direction. A direct connectivity to the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council would be provided to the CM. The Assembly and Council would be in the sixth block. All the government offices will be in the second, third, fourth blocks and fifth block would be allotted to the secretaries.

Presently, the contractors, L&T Constructions and Shaporeji and Pallonji started the works of the five blocks and Assembly block construction would be started after getting permission. The CRDA sources said that the Vastu pandits objected to AP Legislative Council facing the northern direction. So, the design was changed to face the east.
