Winter ends? Days, nights turn warm in Telangana

The IMD said that the trend would continue until the northeasterly winds remain predominant over the state.

Hyderabad: Nights have become warmer in the state. The mercury has risen from 5º Celsius below normal to 2ºC above the mark. The lowest minimum temperature of 13ºC was recorded at Adilabad on Sunday. In Bhadrachalam and Nizamabad, the minimum temperatures were above normal, at 18ºC and 16ºC respectively.

At most of the places, the maximum temperatures were up to 3º Celsius above normal. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 33ºC in Mahbubnagar.

The IMD said that the trend would continue until the northeasterly winds remain predominant over the state. The fall in temperatures occurs when northerly and northwesterly winds dominate over the state as they bring cold air from the north which results in a decrease in minimum temperatures.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in the city on Sunday were 30ºC and 15.5ºC respectively.
