Hyderabad: NRI techie alleges cheating of Rs 42 crore by his partner

Mr Venumadhav, from Musheerabad in the city, was working as a software engineer in US for about 20 years.

Hyderabad: An NRI techie on Monday approached the State Human Rights Commission alleging that he was cheated by his partner to the tune of Rs 42 crore.

Mr P Venumadhav stated that he floated a company and gave power of attorney to one Shantan Kumar as he was working in the US. In his absence, Kumar forged the documents and transferred all the assets to his name, Mr Venumadhav told the commission.

Mr Venumadhav, from Musheerabad in the city, was working as a software engineer in US for about 20 years. In 2005, he came to India and floated a software developing and outsourcing firm ‘Ma-terials Software Systems’ at Basheerbagh and appointed Kumar as a manager.

Mr Venumadhav said in his petition: “He forged documents and even claimed my insurance returns without my knowledge,” he alleged.

He said he had previously lodged a case with the Saifabad police and Kumar was arrested. He was released after he used his political and financial influence, Mr Venumadhav claimed in his petition to the rights commission,

“Recently he has started filing cases against me and has started threatening me using his political influence. My life is in danger as he is trying to kill me,” Mr Venumadhav said. The commission directed the police commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad to submit a report on the petition by June 30.
