Hyderabad: Burglars involved in 13 thefts held

The central crime station sleuths of Malkajgiri and Kushaiguda said that the two offenders were arrested earlier.

Hyderabad: Two habitual offenders who burgled 13 houses in Rachakonda police commissionerate limits were arrested by the Malkajgiri Central Crime Station on Wednesday. The police recovered gold and silver worth '10.7 lakh from the accused.

According to the Rachakonda police, the two were involved in five burglaries in Kushaiguda, three in Keesara, three in Jawaharnagar and two in Nacharam, where huge amounts of gold and silver articles were stolen.

The central crime station sleuths of Malkajgiri and Kushaiguda said that the two offenders were arrested earlier. The duo used to conduct a recce to identify locked houses and burgle them at night.

The police said that the accused B. Mallesh, 31, and B. Suresh, 20, both from Mahbubnagar were caught by the team and 30 tola gold and one kg silver worth Rs 10.7 lakh was recovered from them.

Informing about their history, the police said that Mallesh was arrested by the Nacharam police in five cases of burglary in 2008. He was later arrested in LB Nagar in 2012 for burgling seven houses and was arrested for a third time in 2014 by the Kushaiguda police for burgling five houses.

Mallesh was recently arrested by the Nagulapuram police of Kurnool district in a murder case in 2017 while his associate Suresh was arrested by the Kushaiguda police in two cases of burglary, shared the police, who remanded the accused to judicial custody.
