Hyderabad: Kicked by horse, young man dead

Police has booked a case against the owner of the horse for causing death due to negligence.

Hyderabad: An 18-year-old youth died after being kicked by a horse during a marriage procession at Golconda on Friday midnight.

The victim, Madaar Hussain, a member of the Marfa Band and a resident of Mangalhat, was walking behind the groom, who was mounted on the horse, when the incident occurred. Madaar sustained serious injuries on his chest and was brought dead to a nearby hospital.

Police has booked a case against the owner of the horse, who was present at the time of the accident, for causing death due to negligence.

The Marfa team including Madaar was following the horse while several people were dancing to the music of the band. Madaar, who was concentrating on his job, walked close to the horse. Suddenly the horse kicked the victim with its back leg.

“He sustained serious internal chest injuries. He collapsed on the spot due to internal bleeding and died within a few minutes,” said Golconda inspector of police Syed Fayaz. Police officials said that the procession had gone through the streets of Friends’ Cottage minutes before the incident.

“The horse had been carrying the groom for 15 minutes. It must have got annoyed when the victim’s body or instrument touched its body. There was also a lot of music and noise,” said a police official.

The owner of the horse, Md. Aslam was also present but he failed to control the animal. “We have booked a case against him under IPC Section 304 A (for causing death due to negligence),” said the inspector.
