Rajahmundry: A boy studying in Class X allegedly committed suicide due to failure in a love affair. His body was found hanging from a wooden log with a wire meant to hang clothes for drying at the BC welfare hostel at Razole in East Godavari in the early hours on Thursday.
According Razole police, Malladi Srinivas, 18, hailing from Yerra Yanam of Katrenikona mandal, was staying at the BC welfare hostel at Razole and was appearing for the ongoing final exams. On Wednesday night, while the other students were sleeping, the boy went up the stairs of the building and committed suicide. His body was found in the early hours of the day.
Based on preliminary inquiry, the police suspect that he was involved in a one-side love. His mobile phone reportedly had an SMS in the outbox stating that, "As you wanted me to die, I am dying by committing suicide."
The SMS, however, could not be delivered to his girlfriend because there was not adequate balance in his mobile.
Police booked a case under Section 174 of CrPC and investigation is on.
