Actor Sai Dharam Tej gets legal notice in accident case

As he had failed to submit the said documents, a legal notice was sent to him, the police said

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police on Tuesday sent a legal notice to Tollywood actor Sai Dharam Tej for not submitting required documents in a case pertaining to a bike accident involving the actor at Durgam Cheruvu in September. A case was registered under Section 912 of the CrPC, said the police.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra said the actor was asked to submit his documents, including driving licence, registration certificate, insurance and pollution papers. “As he had failed to submit the said documents, a legal notice was sent to him. If we do not get any response from the actor for the notice, a charge sheet will be filed,” the official said.

The actor was seriously injured in the accident in September and survived after being hospitalised for more than a month. He was riding a Triumph motorbike, bearing registration number TS 07 GJ 1258, in a rash and negligent manner and fell off the vehicle on the road on the Durgam Cheruvu bridge while riding towards IKEA.

It was revealed that the actor had purchased the bike from one Bura Anil Kumar, a resident of LB Nagar, and has not registered the bike on his name till now. Previously, an e-challan for a penalty of Rs 1,135 was issued on the bike at Madhapur for over-speeding at 87 kmph on a road with a permissible maximum speed limit of 40 kmph.
