Bengaluru: Man suspects black magic, hacks father to death

Kiran suspected that he was jobless because his father had cast a black spell on him.

BENGALURU: A 28-year-old man, who suspected himself to be under a spell of black magic, allegedly hacked his father to death with a mutton chopper at his house in Srinivagilu under Viveknagar police limits on Sunday night.

The accused, Kiran Kumar, who is the second son of Gautam, was taken into custody on Monday afternoon. Gautam, a retired employee of MEG and a heart patient, was brutally hacked to death as Kiran suspected that he was jobless because his father had cast a black spell on him. Gautam is survived by his wife and three sons.

Around 6 pm on Sunday, Gautam’s wife and their two sons left for a marriage reception, while Kiran stayed back at home. The father and son had a heated argument over Kiran’s joblessness, and the son, in a fit of rage, grabbed the mutton chopper and slashed Gautam’s throat. Gautam collapsed and died on the spot.

A tenant at Gautam’s house, saw the murder, and alerted the family members and the police and, who arrived at the spot immediately with a dog squad and conducted the investigation.
