CM Pinarayi Vijayan, VS Achuthanandan condemn Thalassery attack

CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran and LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan condemned the Thalassery incident.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said those behind the bomb attack on CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s public meeting would not be spared. The chief minister said that unrestrained violence was highly condemnable. “The culprits will be brought to book,” he said. Veteran CPM leader V.S. Achuthanandan asked the police to deal sternly with RSS trouble makers who were out to disturb peace and tranquillity in the state. “There should be no slackness on the part of police in nabbing the culprits,” he said.

He said the vandalism of Vayalar martyrs memorial allegedly by RSS was also part of Sangh Parivar’s conspiracy to create violence in the state. “Party workers and all peace loving people should maintain strong vigil against RSS designs,” he said. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran and LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan condemned the Thalassery incident. They said the attack was part of Sangh conspiracy to derail peace initiative in Kannur and other parts of the state.
