7 years rigorous imprisonment for military official

Anil Kumar Kohli was arrested for possessing disproportionate assets to the tune over Rs 62 lakh in March 2002.

Hyderabad: A military official, who was arrested by the CBI in a disproportionate assets case, was convicted on Tuesday.

The court sentenced Anil Kumar Kohli, a former garrison engineer, to rigorous imprisonment for seven years and a fine of Rs 15 lakh.

Anil Kumar Kohli was arrested for possessing disproportionate assets to the tune over Rs 62 lakh in March 2002. After conducting the trial, the special CBI court convicted him.

The special CBI judge BVLN Chakravarthi sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven years.

The judge also sentenced him to undergo a simple imprisonment for 21 months and to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
