Drunk lady doctor leaves 3 hurt at Pallimukku

Kollam: A speeding luxury car driven by an alleged drunken lady doctor hit five two wheelers and a car leaving three persons injured at Pallimukku in the city Tuesday night. The police arrested Reshmi Pillai, a dentist from Karunagappally, and released on bail.

She also allegedly tried to attack people who gathered while the police caught her. The traffic along the national highway stalled for half an hour.

Police recovered liquor bottles from her car heading for Kollam. It first rammed into another car that came on the opposite side, injuring its driver Ajith (50) of Chathannoor, and then hit four motorcycles before stopping.

The bike riders suffered minor injuries. The accused also tried to manhandle media persons while she was taken to the district hospital for medical check-up. Kollam East Police booked her for drunken and rash driving.

She allegedly had delayed an ambulance for half an hour in a fit of rage about six months back, seizing its key while parked inside the District Hospital compound alleging it had scrubbed against her car on the move. It kept a cardiac patient waiting on his way to Thiruvananthapuram MCH.

Police also arrested Prabhu, 36, of Pattathanam, Sulaiman, 27, of Pallimukku, and Dilu Suresh, 24, who accompanied, her on charges of assaulting media persons.
