Tampering of GHMC computerised database.

Hyderabad: In continuation of the earlier arrests in a case related to unauthorised mutation of property documents — by way of entering false details in the GHMC database through fake Ids — the cyber crime police here has apprehended a missing person involved in the illegal mutation of property for personal benefits. The accused has been identified as Katta Koteswara Rao, 59, a resident of Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.

On April 19, the cyber crime police has apprehended three accused involved in unauthorised mutation of property documents by entering details in GHMC database through fake ID and charging higher price to the unlawful owner for illegal gratifications.

They were Bathala Polaiah, a GHMC Data Entry Operator and the main accused in changing the mutations, M. Lakhan Singh, the mediator and data entry operator who brings the parties to Polaiah, and Khaja Qutubuddin, the beneficiary.

The cyber crime police apprehended Koteswara Rao, who was involved in a civil dispute on a land at Gouri Shankar Nagar in Banjara Hills, involving one Ramabai and others. “He got the property by illegally transferring mutations in his name, without any documents, by paying Rs15,000 to the con men and their team of goons, who were arrested earlier. “Koteswara Rao is being sent to judicial remand” said the DCP, cyber crime station detective department, Avinash Mohanty.

“The general public is warned against falling prey to such conmen and advised to approach proper officials for mutation of their properties. Even the beneficiaries involved in such illegal acts will not be spared by law. The victims of such fraud, having their property mutations in any other name, can approach the investigative officer for registering their complaints and getting things sorted out,” added the deputy commissioner.
