Homeowner sees' treasure, digs pit nearly 100 feet deep.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Saturday arrested 11 persons including the owner of a house and a techie, who were allegedly digging a house in Hussaini Alam area for “hidden treasures.”

Omer, who owned the house, started the digging 15 days ago, after he saw a treasure chest in a dream. He dug around 30 meters deep before police caught up with him and his men.

ACP K. Ashok Chakravarthy said the prime accused, Moham-med Omer, 45, a businessman, owned the house in Iqbal Ud Daula Devdi (Jagdish Huts) under Hussaini Alam police station limits. Two weeks ago, Omer had a dream in which a stranger told him that a treasure was lying hidden under his house.

Omer shared his dream with his friends, who encouraged him to start digging.
He hired seven labourers and along with his three friends started digging the room spread over an area of 12 square feet.

“They used to dig at night and used an electric motor to pump out water from the pit. Every night they spent a few hours secretly doing this work,” ACP Ashok said.

Based on a tip off, police raided the spot on Friday night and apprehended 12 persons including Omer, his techie friend Y. Sravan and others. A case under Indian Treasure Trove Act was registered and the accused were sent to judicial remand after they were produced in court.
