Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped in front of her male friend in Karimnagar district, police said.
The incident occurred on the night of February 20 on the outskirts of a village under Karimnagar Rural Police Station limits, when four persons attacked the girl and her companion, also a minor, Inspector B Krishna Goud said, adding both are college students.
"The accused snatched Rs 1,000 and one mobile phone from the duo. While one of them sexually assaulted the girl, another accused attempted to rape her," Goud said.
On boy's complaint, police registered a case against the four accused on charges of gangrape and robbery besides under relevant sections of POCSO Act. Nobody has been arrested yet, the Inspector said.
