Sharath murder case: 5th accused held

The arrested person Shantha Kumar (28), a native of Mandya, was one of the five accused who had kidnapped Sharath.

Bengaluru: The fifth accused in the kidnapping and murder of IT officer's son Sharath, was arrested by the Jnanabharathi police late Sunday. The arrested person Shantha Kumar (28), a native of Mandya, was one of the five accused who had kidnapped Sharath on September 12 and strangled him to death that day before throwing his body into Narasimhaiana Kere near Ramohalli twice and burying it near a quarry in Kurubarapalli at Ajjanahalli near Ramohalli after it started floating in the lake.

Shantha Kumar, who was a cab driver, had abandoned his car which was used to transport the body and was planning to leave the state when he was nabbed. The other four accused Vishal (21), Vinay Prasad (24), Karan Pai (22), Vinodkumar V (21) were arrested on September 21.
