Chennai: Police have launched a hunt for burglar(s) who allegedly broke into a house near Santhome and decamped with 50 sovereigns of gold jewellery. Police sources said that the burglars broke into the house of a former bank staff.
Around 8 am, the family left their house on Muthu street and returned around 9 pm to find the front door broken open.
Alarmed, the family went inside to find the locker broken and 50 sovereign jewellery missing. Mylapore police registered a case and are investigating.
